I'm sure most of you are wondering what on earth a Medlar is! The truth is, it's a little known, little used fruit native to Britain. It was once one of the most loved and revered fruits of all, particularly in the Elizabethan era. Shakespeare was particularly fond of it. This soap is made with REAL wild harvested Medlar fruits, foraged by my very own hands. The fruits are picked green and then left to 'blett' and at the point that they are almost rotten is when they are their peak of flavor. the flavour can only be described as a plum meets a fig; it's very earthy and sweet. The resulting soap is so beautiful...; the scent is a very deep fruity scent with shades of spices like nutmeg, clove and cardamom.
